AirPods Could Fall to Their Lowest Price Ever. We Still Don’t Think You Should Buy Them.

Shopping for a new pair of wireless earbuds can make you feel a little like Goldilocks—with so many styles, sizes, and prices to choose from, it can be difficult to find something that works just right. Prime Day, Amazon’s annual deals extravaganza, doesn’t make the hunt any easier. After scrolling through an overwhelming amount of deals, you might find it all too easy to settle for the first recognizable earbuds you see.

Among the most distinguishable options are the Apple AirPods, currently available for $100 from Costco, and the AirPods Pro, down to $185 from Woot and $190 from Target (plus an additional 5% off for RedCard holders). And if you’ve been planning to buy a MacBook or an iPad, you may be eligible for a free pair of AirPods if you qualify for Apple’s Back to School student offer. These are some of the best deals we’ve seen so far for both iterations of the AirPods, and the prices could continue to drop—but we still don’t think you should buy either of them.
