Traveling with little kids can be a slog; a lightweight, easy-to-install travel car seat may make things a little easier. We researched over a dozen travel car seats to see how they perform for air travel and in rental cars, and determined that a regular infant car seat used without its base is the best option while a baby still fits in it. The Doona—a unique (but expensive) infant car seat that converts to a stroller—is the best integrated travel system, while the Cosco Scenera Next is the best convertible car seat for travel.
