Along with the changing of the leaves, a dip in the (smart) thermostat, and the start of weekly football-fueled bacchanalia, autumn’s arrival brings Amazon’s ritual announcement of new devices. This year’s crop included a few new smart-home product announcements, such as for Ring, Blink, Echo, and Fire TV devices, but otherwise the event was heavy on added features and improvements to existing devices. We’ve highlighted the standouts below, along with some of the more tantalizing bits we hope to try and test as we get our hands on these devices in the coming weeks and months.
