I worked part-time as a nanny throughout college. Three days a week, I was the backpack carrier, the gymnastics-practice chauffeur, and the backyard soccer goalie for three kids under 12. As chaotic as things could get, I loved helping my nanny-kids have fun until mom and dad got home. But I was always looking for shortcuts to free up my time and energy from chores so I could focus on being present while caregiving.
