The Apple Watch Series 7 is available for order now, and we’ll be testing it soon to share our full thoughts. In the meantime, we think the handful of minor improvements compared to the Apple Watch Series 6—the larger display area, more crack-resistant glass, and faster charging—plus the always-on display, ECG, and blood oxygen meter, make it a worthy top pick over the year-old Apple Watch SE. If you’re not concerned about those features or on a budget though, the Apple Watch SE remains a great option. Please, don’t buy the Apple Watch Series 3 at this point.
If you have an iPhone and you want a smartwatch, there’s no reason to choose anything but an Apple Watch—and this year, most people should choose the Apple Watch SE. It’s the best way to keep up with notifications, track fitness, get directions, and use apps without having to constantly reach for your phone, and it offers almost all of the features of the much more expensive Apple Watch Series 6.
